Obesity in Adults
According to the New York Times, only 5 percent of men, and 8 percent of women were obese in 1989—worldwide!
Now, just over 30 years later, the numbers have more than doubled with about 205 million men falling into the obese category and as many as 297 million women who are obese.
It’s even more astonishing to think that as many as 1.5 billion people in the world are categorized as overweight.
Statistics show that the problem of obesity is no longer just a problem for the land of the free and the home of the Big Mac, or the United States of America. In fact, research reveals that almost all corners of the globe, excepting central Africa and South Asia, are struggling with their weight.
Although countries with more money do a better job of controlling blood pressure and triglyceride levels, it is clear that something must be done about this raging epidemic.
What Has Changed?
Some might point to our large serving sizes, or the fact that we don’t get out and play as much as we used to, and while those are all contributing problems, we think it is something more: time.
With our schedules, it has become increasingly more difficult to prepare meals from scratch in the home. Instead, we’ve turned to fast food, microwaveable meals, and pre-packaged everything.
These meals are dangerous, not just because of the food additives, but because they are prepared with a profit in mind, rather than your health.
Instead of focusing on making meals that are going to be good for you, the industrial food suppliers are engineering food to appeal to your most basic tastes, sweet, salty, cheesy, greasy, etc.
So How Do We Combat This Change?
Frankly, the answer to this question is simple: make your own food. But this is definitely something that is easier said than done. In fact, for some people, finding an extra few hours in the day might just seem impossible. So what do these people do?
In order to give yourself the best possible chance against obesity, it is best to do the best you can to monitor exactly how many calories you’re eating, by eating as much home cooked goodness that you can.
However, if this is unrealistic, we would recommend that you try supplementing your diet with a diet pill. The diet industry has made huge strides toward giving us products that will help increase our chances to lose weight.
In fact, we’ve looked through some of the most popular weight loss pills, searching for the one that would be the healthiest way to lose weight. After a lot of research, we found that Lipofuze stands out from the rest of the competition.
Just remember, that while obesity has become an epidemic, it is not an incurable disease. Steps can, and should, be made to make your body healthier and you happier.
