How To Grow A Better Garden
My first garden was when I was 6. My mom decided it would be good for each of the kids to have their own little plot where they could grow whatever they want. Of course, as it turns out, my mom did all of the gardening and we just thought we were doing a great job! That is to date the most successful garden I’ve ever had.
I am notorious for my brown thumb, and I have no trouble admitting it. I get caught up in other things, and when it comes right down to it, I forget about my garden. I am not one of those people you will see at home depot or the gardening store buying all sorts of things to enhance my garden. But my mom is. And I have seen her create garden after garden of beautiful roses, fruits, peppers, and other things that you might not normally think of. She has plenty of flower, and she has a green thumb unless you are talking about flower pots for some reason.
One thing that she is always keeping an eye on is the sod prices. She has always told me that sod is absolutely elemental in creating a beautiful garden. Without the right sod, you cannot actually get the nutrients you need from plain dirt, and therefore your plants will not be as big, your roses not as red or whatever color they should be, etc.
And while obviously you don’t want to get the super cheap discount sod, sod prices do not always reflect the true quality of any given sod. There are of course sods that are vastly overpriced, and there are those that come at a killer deal and give you exactly what you are looking for. Recently, since she got good at using the internet, she has found some of her best sods and the best sod prices online, which has never been surprising to me.
