If you want to make your own homemade colon cleanser, I cannot guarantee it will taste good. In fact, you’ll probably have to fight a gag reflex if you’re not going with a colon cleansing diet all together.  But they can potentially work.  One of the simplest recipes uses a broth.  It has various benefits of its own.  But then you want to add spices from your cupboard such as ginger, cascara sagrada, if you can find it dandelion root, milk thistle, cayenne pepper, and a few others.  Then you want to add some psyllium husk fiber in powder form that you can find at your local grocery store, and you can add honey to this if you want. 

This very basic recipe gives you a liquid form.  I’ve never actually been able to stomach it on a personal basis.  But I’ve seen some with more will than myself or rather just those determined to avoid doing the diet itself, and it has worked for them.  It does actually have the right ingredients required for colon cleansing in many pills.  It doesn’t have some of them, because you only find those in pills or sold powders.  But in general terms, it has the major ones and can help you.  But I recommend that if you do this, combine it with a good multivitamin to avoid side effects.
