Dr. Oz Green Coffee Colon Cleanse: Is It Right for You?
Dr. Oz has made some bold recommendations in the past, and there’s no doubt you can expect more in the future.
And dieters pay attention to what he has to say. Many dieters are attracted to Dr. Oz’s most recent recommendations: colon cleanses and green coffee bean extracts.
“Dr. Oz’s 48-Hour Weekend Cleanse will revitalize you from the inside out,” you can hear on advertisements on DoctorOz.com. And you’ll also hear, “green coffee bean extract: the fat burner that works!”
The popular doctor encourages dieters to start with a colon cleanse and then begin using a supplement made with green coffee bean extract to really improve overall health and increase weight loss results.
Get Started with an All-Natural Cleanse
According to a Q&A posted at Oprah.com, Dr. Oz emphasizes “[y]our colon is designed to clear out waste every 24 to 48 hours or so.” As such, Dr. Oz discourages regular colon cleanses that “can lead to dehydration and an electrolyte imbalance, resulting in dizziness, fatigue, vomiting, and cramps.”
Rather, he promotes a more balanced, all-natural approach that encourages your body to continue performing its natural functions, rather than place unnecessary stress on the body through regular colon cleanses.
On his Website, he explains naturally detoxifying the body with the right nutrients will keep your system running smoothly. His 48-Hour Weekend Cleanse is based on nourishing the liver, colon, and kidneys with simple meals and snacks.
Additionally, colon cleansing supplements are a viable option for many looking to get a great cleanse without completely altering their diet.
If you are looking to follow a meal plan for your cleanse, the 48-hour meal plan consists of the following:
• Breakfast: quinoa with prunes
• Snack: pineapple, lemon, and pomegranate detox drink or kale, pineapple, and ginger detox drink
• Alternate snack: slice and mix together celery, radish, cucumbers, or an assortment of veggies
• Lunch: fruit smoothie
• Dinner: vegetable broth soup
Additional tips include, “no eating after 7 pm”, “take an Epsom salt bath,” and “dandelion root tea before bed.”
You can find recipes for the diet on DoctorOz.com, as well as an easy-to-follow shopping list.
According to Dr. Oz, “The first time I did this cleanse, I noticed that its effects aren’t just physical. I believe there is a spiritual aspect as well. Afterward I felt a sense of peace that I didn’t have before.”
The cleanse, like many of the top-rated colon cleansers available today, focuses primarily on increasing fiber intake. The Dr. Oz Cleanse works by utilizing natural fruits and vegetables.
Many consumers have used this short cleanse to successfully slim down or eliminate bloating without experiencing negative side effects.
For example, wilcocksk at Oprah.com wrote, “I started this cleanse yesterday and woke up this morning 4 lbs lighter. I do realize that it was all fluids that I was retaining from all of the holiday eating but it was a nice surprise on the scales.”
Although Dr. Oz’s 48 Hour Cleanse isn’t perfect, it seems like a safe and natural way to improve overall digestive health and performance. However, it’s not going to be for everyone.
And the Next Step, Green Coffee Bean Extract
Once you’ve finished a cleanse, Dr. Oz recommends the next step you take is green coffee bean extract use.
According to Dr. Oz, green coffee bean extract is “One of the most important discoveries I believe we’ve made that will help you burn fat.”
In a recent study published in Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome, and Obesity, researchers found green bean extract rich in chlorogenic acids caused an average of 18 pounds weight loss in just 12 weeks.
This study then prompted the show’s medical unit to test green coffee bean extract’s effects on 100 volunteers. 100 women between 35 and 49 were instructed to take 400 mg capsules 3 times daily before meals. Participants were encouraged against changes in their diet and to keep a food journal.
After 2 weeks, the women lost an average of 2 pounds.
Researchers believe green coffee bean extract is effective because the chlorogenic acids inhibit the enzyme glucose-6-phosphatase. This enzyme promotes the formation of sugar in the liver. Traditional brewed coffee doesn’t provide adequate chlorogenic acid concentrations, while green coffee bean extract is both high in chlorogenic acids and other antioxidants.
While you should understand “no pill is more effective than maintaining a regular exercise regimen and a healthy diet,” adding a reliable green coffee bean supplements may be just what you need to slim down quickly.
Are These Techniques Right for You?
By eliminating toxins with a colon cleanse and then jumpstarting your metabolism with green coffee bean extract, there’s solid research you can accelerate your weight loss results.
Although neither method is perfect for everyone, many Dr. Oz fans and fitness enthusiasts have followed these techniques and enjoyed numerous health benefits.
