Colon Cleanser Reviews and Product Information

Choosing Colon Cleansing - May 6th, 2009

There are many supporters of colon cleansing.  They claim that it will remove toxins from your gastrointestinal tract and thereby relieve or prevent certain types of health problems such as arthritis, allergies, and asthma.  It can be called colonic irrigation if you go into a professional who essentially sticks a tube up your rectum to spray your colon out.  But they claim it will boost your energy and enhance your immune system among other things.

The scientific evidence is not exact at this time.  There is no scientific evidence to support the idea that it will reduce symptoms of arthritis for example.  But there are various users who have reported these benefits, and there are some ingredients that have time after time shown themselves to work more effectively than others.

There are some medical professionals that recommend a colonic irrigation to prepare for a colonoscopy.  But for most individuals, it is not appropriate as this kind of procedure can actually do more harm than good.  A colonic irrigation can be too harsh on the inside of your body, and while you do see all the black toxins and waste leaving your body, you should consider the long term risks, both determined and undetermined.  You would be better off going with an oral supplement or otherwise.

Still, there are some precautions to be taken with an herbal and oral supplement.  There are certainly concerns about increased risk of dehydration.  So drink a lot of water.  In theory in its concern to the detoxification process, it will help you to effectively flush your body.  In terms of health as health professionals look at it, it will keep you from getting dehydrated.  You should also keep in mind that if you are going to use a supplement, you should watch out for supplements that use laxatives or diuretics rather than recognized cleansing ingredients.

Second, eat a diet rich in fiber.  This will help really get your system cleaned out, and if you exercise regularly, it will help even more.  But before any cleanse, you should check with your medical professional, especially if you have a pre-existing medical condition.  You should use a supplement if anything and find out exactly what is in the pill you are taking in terms of ingredients, amounts, etc.  You should not take any cleanse that claims to cure any broad spectrum of illness such as cancer for example, and I repeat, make sure to drink enough water.
